Work Study: TRU Prior Learning Acknowledgement and Recognition
My role in the 2023 PLAR Persistence Study was to collaborate with the PLAR research team in deciding on which codes to be used for qualitative data analysis of text responses to questions in the survey. It involved repeated review of the responses to identify themes that were relevant to the question being asked, and coming up with the best codes possible. Once codes for the responses were agreed upon, I used Survey Monkey to tag the responses to the survey question with the relevant code. Helpfully, by using the Survey Monkey website tools, it was easy to then determine the number and percentage of responses that pertained to each code. These findings were also compared to the quantitative data findings when we came together as a team to discuss the results.
